Tecno Pova Slim full review

The Tecno Pova Slim is not only one of the most popular low-end smartphones of the year 2025, but also rightfully so. With a thickness of only 5.95mm and weighing just 156 grams, Tecno Pova Slim 5G introduces the ultra-slim phone trend that was only enjoyed by flagships such as Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple iPhone Air, to the mid-range market at less than a quarter of the cost. And yet does a phone this thin suffer the necessities? As part of this overall Tecno Pova Slim review, we discuss all the aspects in detail: design and build quality, display performance, camera capabilities, battery life, overall performance, software and whether it is good value money.

Design & Build Quality Tecno Pova Slim

Tecno Pova Slim design and build

The initial impression you get when you hold the Tecno Pova Slim is the impossibly slim feel of the phone. With a thickness of 5.95mm, , a design that may easily pass as a high-end flagship. The curved sides in 3D add to the illusion of thinness and the Tecno Pova Slim appears even thinner than the figures indicate.

Tecno did so by developing Honeycomb Space Stacking Technology that is more efficient in terms of space inside the case, by utilizing the space better by 12 percent -quartering more hardware in the same volume without having to increase the body size. The back panel is made of aerospace-grade fiberglass instead of typical plastic, providing a purported +300 percent increase in strength and a smooth and high-end feel to the finish.

Durability is supported by IP64 (dust-tight and splash-resistant) and MIL-STD-810H military standards. The front glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i that is purported to be twice the drop resistance of Gorilla Glass 5. The Tecno Pova Slim is solid despite the thin profile and does not flex much when under pressure.

The highlight is the Dynamic Mood Light two round LEDs constructed around the rear camera module pulses when receiving calls, notifications, and charging. The touching aspect of it is a unique and entertaining feature that makes the Tecno Pova Slim be easily identified. The box contains a case with hard matte-finish.

5.95mm super slim body – one of the thinnest mid-range phones in the market.

Just 156g- featherlight, all-day comfortable carrying.

Aerospace grade fiberglass back – powerful and light.

IP64 + MIL-STD-810H – dust, splash and drop resistant.

Dynamic Mood Light LEDs – distinctive and attention-grabbing personality feature.

Matte hard case to ensure better grip is provided in the box.

Camera Tecno Pova Slim

Tecno Pova Slim camera

The Tecno Pova Slim has a pair of rear cameras, a 50MP main lens with PDAF (phase-detection autofocus) and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 13MP wide selfie camera on the front.

The Tecno Pova Slim has a 50MP shooter that takes detailed shots with good autofocus in bright light conditions. Colors are not over-processed or artificially saturated and this is suitable to users who like realistic tones. This price range provides decent background blur in portrait mode.

Photography in low light shows the limitations of the camera, noise is observed and details are not clearly visible in low light. Video goes to 1440p at 30fps on the rear and 1080p at 30fps on the front which is sufficient to satisfy daily activities and social media, but nothing special. The camera is an obvious area that Tecno compromised to have the iconic slim body of Tecno Pova Slim.

  • 50MP primary camera with PDAF — sharp and detailed in daylight
  • Natural, true-to-life color rendering — no heavy over-processing
  • 2MP depth sensor — decent bokeh and portrait effects
  • 13MP front camera — suitable for selfies and video calls
  • 1440p rear video recording at 30fps
  • Weak low-light performance — noise visible in dark environments

Tecno Pova Slim Battery Life

Tecno Pova Slim battery

One of the most striking engineering aspects of the Tecno Pova Slim is its battery, perhaps. Tecno was able to squeeze a 5,160mAh Silicon-Carbon battery into the sub-6mm frame. Silicon-carbon cells also provide a high energy density than the standard lithium-ion, allowing the Tecno Pova Slim to have a greater capacity without increasing the thickness or weight of the device.

In practice, the Tecno Pova should last a whole day of moderate to heavy use, i.e., calls, social media, browsing, music and some gaming. Benchmark testing showed more than 10 hours of screen-on time and streaming video was consuming about 4 percent of battery per hour.

The Tecno Pova Slim is charged using 45W wired fast charging, which charges the phone in less than an hour. The 10W reverse wire charging enables the device to be used as a power bank to charge earbuds and accessories. Tecno claims a battery of 2,000 charge cycles, but guarantees over 80 percent capacity after five years.

  • 5,160mAh Silicon-Carbon battery — massive capacity in a 5.95mm body
  • Full day+ battery life on moderate to heavy usage
  • 45W fast charging — 0 to 100% in under 60 minutes
  • 10W reverse wired charging — share power with other devices
  • 2,000+ charge cycle lifespan — built for long-term reliability
  • Bypass charging — game or work while charging without excess heat

Tecno Pova Slim Display

Tecno Pova Slim display

One of the largest attractions of the Tecno Pova Slim is its display. The 3D Curved AMOLED display is 6.78-inches, with a resolution of 1.5K (1224 × 2720 pixels) and a pixel density of about 440 ppi – sharp and clear when reading, streaming, and on social media.

The screen has a 144Hz refresh rate, which is supported but the real-world use indicates that it can usually run 60-120Hz. Nevertheless, scrolling is smooth, and the picture quality is outstanding: the colors are vivid, the blacks are rich, and the 4,500 nit peak brightness is jaw-dropping, which makes the Tecno Pova Slim entirely readable in direct sunlight.

  • 6.78″ 3D Curved AMOLED — premium visual experience for the price
  • 1.5K resolution at 440 ppi — sharp and immersive
  • 4,500 nits peak brightness — best-in-class outdoor visibility
  • 144Hz on paper (adaptive 60–120Hz in real-world use)
  • Dynamic Island-style notification pill — practical and interactive
  •
    Gorilla Glass 7i screen protection

Tecno Pova Slim Performance

The Tecno Pova Slim uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 (6nm) chip, which is an octa-core with two 2.5GHz Cortex-A76 performance cores and six 2.0GHz efficiency cores and a Mali-G57 MC2 graphics card. The phone will be supplied with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS storage (maximum).

In its day-to-day activities like making calls, sending messages, browsing, streaming and social media, the Tecno Pova Slim copes quite well. Applications are launched quickly enough, and multitasking does not become a problem. The interface, based on Android 15 and HIOS 15, is smooth and has many features, particularly when the virtual RAM expansion is turned on.

Nonetheless, the limitations of the Dimensity 6400 may be experienced by the heavy gamers or power users. Similar priced competitors have the Dimensity 7400 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 – far faster chips. Occasional UI lag can be observed in complicated animations.

One of its strong sides is thermal performance: the Tecno Pova Slim comes with a vapor cooling system with a graphite that has a phenomenal thermal conductivity of 1800W/ (m x K) and ensures stable temperatures even when used for long periods. The device also has a TUV Rheinland 5-year lag-free certification granted to Tecno.

Tecno Pova Slim Software

Android 15 Tecno Pova Slim comes with HIOS 15 skin with Android 15. The interface is highly customizable, has intelligent AI optimization tools, virtual RAM expansion, and the Dynamic Island-style pill interaction interface. HIOS 15 is better organized and refined than the older versions, but contains some pre-installed bloatware.

The TUV Rheinland 5-year lag-free certification guarantees continuous operation without any problems during the entire life of the device – this is a significant promise in the middle-range segment where slowing software performance is a common feature over the years.

Tecno Pova Slim Connectivity

The Tecno Pova Slim 5G has all the bases of connectivity. It is in favor of 5G carrier aggregation FDD + TDD to achieve higher speeds and an extended network coverage. Wi-Fi is dual-band (802.11 ac), Bluetooth 5.4 is A2DP and LE supported, and NFC is used to make contactless payments. Navigation includes GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BDS. There is also an infrared blaster and FM radio.

  • 5G with FDD+TDD carrier aggregation — fast and wide coverage
  • Bluetooth 5.4 + NFC for contactless payments
  • Infrared blaster + FM Radio
  • Under-display optical fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking
  • No 3.5mm headphone jack (USB-C audio adapter required)No microSD slot — choose 128GB or 256GB wisely

Pros

  • World's slimmest 5G design (only 5.95mm).
  • Stunning 144Hz 3D Curved AMOLED display.
  • Solid 5G performance with Dimensity 6400.
  • Large 5160mAh battery despite the slim profile.
  • Unique Mood Light design on the back.
  • IP64 dust and splash resistance.

Cons

  • No Ultrawide camera lens.
  • No 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • Charging speed (45W) is slower than some competitors.
  • No microSD card slot for storage expansion.
  • Plastic frame might feel less premium than metal.

The Tecno Pova Slim starts at approximately ₹19,999 in India and BDT 29,999 in Bangladesh. It is available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage variants.

Yes. The Tecno Pova Slim 5G supports 5G connectivity with FDD+TDD carrier aggregation, combining low-band and mid-band networks for faster speeds and extended coverage.

The Tecno Pova Slim's 5,160mAh Silicon-Carbon battery easily lasts a full day of moderate to heavy use. Benchmark testing recorded over 10 hours of screen-on time, and 45W fast charging refills it fully in under an hour.

The Tecno Pova Slim has an IP64 rating, meaning it is fully dust-resistant and protected against water splashes. It is not rated for full underwater submersion.

The Tecno Pova Slim is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 (6nm) — an octa-core processor great for daily tasks but not designed for intensive gaming workloads.

The Tecno Pova Slim measures just 5.95mm thin — making it one of the slimmest smartphones available in India under ₹1 lakh, thinner than many premium flagship devices.

The Tecno Pova Slim is a phone that dares to be different. In a mid-range segment where most smartphones look identical, the Tecno Pova Slim cuts through the noise with a jaw-dropping 5.95mm body, an AMOLED display that rivals phones costing twice as much, and a battery that has no business being this large in this thin a shell.

The trade-offs are real: the Dimensity 6400 processor trails behind competitors, the camera struggles in low-light, and the 144Hz refresh rate claim does not match real-world behavior. But for daily use — calls, social media, streaming, and looking great while doing it — the Tecno Pova Slim delivers an experience that feels far more premium than its price suggests.
